During 1986

Cadet Steve Podmore was promoted to Corporal. in April
The Mayors Parade was held.
The Annual Camp was held at RAF Honnington.

During 1987

Flg.Off. Andy Crowther retired due to health reasons.


Flt.Lt R.Pickstock tranferred from Blackburn Squadron and was appointed as C.O.

Flt.Lt. (ex Wing Sqdn.Ldr.) A. Chadwick was posted to the Squadron.
Flg.Off. Tony Lundy transferred from 1832 North Manchester to join the Squadron.
The Cadet stength dwindled.
Adventure Training Courses were held at Windemere in September.
Cadet Cpl. Steve Podmore was promoted to Sgt. in May.
Flt.Lt R.Pickstock was selected to represent the East Lancashire Wing at RAF Gutersloh in Germany.
In July a number of Cadets from East Lancashire Wing attended camp at RAF Wildenrath, Germany, amongst them was Sgt. Steve Podmore who also got a trip on a HS125 Royal Flight jet to RAF Brize Norton at the same time as other Cadets were on Annual Camp.
Sgt. Steve Podmore left the Squadron in August to enlist in the RAF.

[Post Squadron History - In 1991 he saw operational service in the Gulf War, and Turkey as part of the force policing the no-fly zone and also in the former Yugoslavia. In 2003 he is currently serving as a Survival Equipment Fitter at RAF Coltishall (on Jaguars) and in April of the same year he was put on stand -by to head to the Gulf again.]
Cadet Mathew Clement obtained his Marksman Badge in January and was promoted to Cpl.in December.
The Annual Camp was held in August at RAF. Wyton.
